On behalf of the Executive Committee and the general membership of this honorable Club, I welcome you to enjoy the information and features projected in this Website.

We tailored our Website to be very accommodating and encompassing, addressing many issues that both a novice and those who are familiar with the Club would want to know. In addition we endeavor to make the site a “one stop shop” for news and information about the Peoples Club, Nigerian community and news affecting Africa . Organizations and individuals are given an opportunity to post their schedule of events in our calendar. This feature will serve as a resource for our community and ensures that we do not schedule many events the same day.

HISTORY

The New York City (Big Apple) Branch of Peoples Club of International (PCNI) was established on August 6, 2005 to take its rightful place in the history of the Club in the Americas. The Club’s leadership felt that the PCNI in the would be incomplete without a branch in the Big Apple; the capital of the world.

We started the rigorous process of establishing the New York City branch in 2002 in defiance of the usual formative forces of gravity. And in 2005, through the tenacity of the eight (8) founding members, the steadfastness and guidance of our leaders at the headquarters; the motivational obstacles by the Leadership Core Group with a twister added by the Princeton branch under the leadership of Agwukwu Ofodu; and the grace of God, we founded the branch amidst pumps and pageantry. New York City branch broke any record set by any other branch in their inauguration in the history of Peoples Club. We have since maintained the pace.

Currently, the New York City ( Big Apple) branch enjoys a diverse ethnic membership of various like-minded professionals. We also enjoy a rare camaraderie among members that is in line with the intent of the national constitution and our local by-law. This is made possible by our purposeful stringent admission policy that ensures the recruitment of men and women of caliber. This and our lucrative membership benefits have resulted in a surge in membership.

Our Club is exclusively a non-direct open membership Club and membership is through personal invitation of certain qualified individuals for screening. An applicant into the Branch must have a sponsor who is already a member of Peoples Club. Admission into New York City branch is based on character and the ability to get along with other members and the ability to pay the prescribed yearly dues, which entitles each member to series of the life and death benefits. You must be good to be a member of NYC PCNI branch! Contrary to some popular beliefs about our dear Club, potential members do not have to be rich to be a member of NYC branch or PCNI in general.
